Dit jaar gaat UgameUlearn Over The User Experience. 3komma14 werd gevraagd om een leuk campagne te bedenken. En daar zijn we goed in. De afgelopen weken werd een print campagne vormgegeven met een interactief tintje. Op de poster/uitnodiging is een augmented reality tag te vinden waarmee de een mystery guest kan worden onthuld. Ervaar het zelf.

Last week someone sent me a email about a great website in japan called wonder-wall. I look at it. My first reaction was, i have see this before, very long ago. The working of the website was very simular at the website of sandberg.nl. So how was first ? I know that the website of Sandberg Institute, came online in 2002-2003 and was made by Luna Maurer. I have on idea when wonder-wall was made. But i think must later. Another thing between the websites is “audio”. They have just the same sound experiments. This can’t be a coincidence.

While Apple’s iPhone has notably been left out of Adobe’s new initiative with Flash Player 10.1 to bring an integrated Flash experience to browsers on smartphones and other platforms, TechCrunch notes that Adobe has also been using its Adobe MAX 2009 conference to show off capabilities found in the company’s forthcoming Flash Professional CS5 that will allow developers to build Flash-based applications and then export them to the standard .ipa format used for native iPhone applications. The new support for iPhone applications in the Flash Platform tooling will not allow iPhone users to browse web content built with Flash technology on iPhone, but it may allow developers to repackage existing web content as applications for iPhone if they choose to do so.

Flash Player uses a just-in-time compiler and virtual machine within a browser plug-in to play back content on websites. Those technologies are not allowed on the iPhone at this time, so a Flash Player for iPhone is not being made available today. Flash Professional CS5 will enable developers to build applications for iPhone that are installed as native applications. Users will be able to access the apps after downloading them from Apple’s App Store and installing them on iPhone or iPod touch Applications created using Flash Professional CS5 meet all iPhone .ipa and SDK requirements, allowing them to be included in Apple’s App Store via the standard iPhone Developer Program. Adobe has even featured seven current App Store applications that were built using a pre-release version of Flash Professional CS5.

De WhiteVoid portofolio engine bestaat al een tijdje. Maar het blijf toch een super engine. Het brein achter deze engine is Andre Stubbe Tot mij verbazing is de engine volledig te downloaden op verschilleden plekken.

Maar na het open van de files werken geen van de twee downloads. De files zitten vol bugs en soms lijken de code ver weg te staan van actionscipte.
Bij het openen van de .fla, kwam de eerste error. “Could not load scene into memory. Your document may be damaged.” Waarna er nog eens 3 error is de BitmapMaterial.as voorbij kwamen.

Ik weet in ieder geval niet waar het probleem zat. Misschien zijn de files gedecompiled vanuit een swf, waardoor de code niet helemaal goed is vertaald. Misschien hebben andere meer succes met deze classes. Ik hou het in ieder geval bij overzichtelijk code.

A good example is the wouter hisschemoller, a flash developer from amsterdam specialized in audio programming.
His background as a Dj, tells a lot about the love for electronic music. One of his last project is a Step sequencer / drum machine.

Cool Web-Application

Een met lof ontvangen animatiefilm schudt Israëls geweten op voor zijn aandeel in de beruchte slachting van Palestijnen in 1982. Tot voor kort wist bijna niemand in Israël welke rol het leger heeft gespeeld bij de beruchte slachting in 1982 van Palestijnse burgers in de Sabra en Shatila vluchtelingenkampen van Beiroet. Maar dankzij Ari Folmans film Waltz With Bashir weet iedereen het: het waren de lichtpijlen van de Israëliërs die de nachtelijke hemel van Beiroet wit deden oplichten zodat Libanese christelijke milities bloedig konden toeslaan. De langzaam dalende lichtpijlen boven Beiroet zijn het terugkerende thema van Folmans animatiefilm, die als 19-jarige soldaat zelf de pijlen afvuurde. De film heeft de discussie over Israëls aandeel nieuw leven ingeblazen. De invasie was opgezet door Ariel Sharon, toen minister van Defensie, in een poging de raketbeschietingen van de PLO te stoppen. Centraal in de discussie staat Israëls medeverantwoordelijkheid voor de dood van 700 tot 3.000 Palestijnen. Folman zegt dat hij, toen hij de lichtpijlen afschoot, geen idee had van de slachting. De moorden bleken het antwoord van falangistische milities die hun kort ervoor vermoorde leider Bashir Gemayel wreekten. Gemayel, de pas gekozen president van Libanon en leider van de Kataeb Sociaaldemocratische Partij, kwam om het leven in een bomaanslag die onterecht werd toegeschreven aan de Palestijnen. In 1983 vond een Israëlische onderzoekscommissie dat Sharon ‘persoonlijke verantwoordelijkheid’ droeg door geen rekening te houden met het dreigende gevaar van rancuneuze Kataeb-falangististen. Sharon, nog altijd in coma door een beroerte in 2006, moest in 1983 aftreden. De getekende versie van Sharon heeft een klein rolletje. Terwijl hij een steak en eieren verslindt, hangt hij aan de telefoon met de Israëlische premier Menachem Begin en de commandant ter plaatse in Libanon. Volgens Raanan Gissin, voormalig woordvoerder van Sharon, klopt dat beeld niet. ‘Hij heeft nooit orders gegeven terwijl hij zat te eten.’ Volgens Gissin draagt Israël geen verantwoordelijkheid. Het is ‘waarschijnlijk een Syrische samenzwering’. Regisseur Folman heeft maar één doel: hij hoopt dat de film jongeren ervan weerhoudt in oorlog te gaan: ‘Mijn film laat zien hoe stom oorlogen zijn en hoe nutteloos het idee ervan is. Er schuilt geen eer in oorlog, geen heldendom, niets. In tegenstelling tot Amerikaanse anti-oorlogfilms, waar de mannen zo cool zijn.’

De film draait al in Nederland.
