Bloc Party in Watt-Rotterdam

Is time for some music again. The last view years it was very quiet around bloc party. No news is good news, they say. Sometimes you need time to come back. Bloc Party took the time, to make something beautiful. Last saturday October 25th the was a exclusive showcase around bloc party in Watt-Rotterdam. I didn’t download the new album, so i didn’t no what to expect. I have seen many concerts, But this one was outstanding. I have never seen so many people exploring crowd surfing and stagediving in one night. I didn’t count, but is was clear for everybody that we are back in the early days.

The atmosfeer was great like a small livingroom with too many people in it. Maybe to good to be true. The first two songs were brand new, so the audience lay back to prepare theme selfs for the brand new message about intimacy. Kele Okereke had something to say, with new songs and old ones, like helicopter, Banquet, Positive Tension, hunting for witches and waiting for the 7:18 enz. The song list was very nice composed. The respons ; Watt was eating out of the hands of Bloc Party.

Kele Okereke felt that he must sweat more for his audience. It’s a two energy flow he said, so let me work for you. It was clear that kele Okereke was in a good mood for a party. The audience get what they came for, a real Bloc Party party, but the big moment wasn’t there yet. (see the video below) After two short breaks it was time for bloc party to show the crowd there real face. Mercury was the big surprise. It didn’t take a long before Kele Okereke was carried by the crowd.. A hand in hand Bloc Party party, a hilarious concert moment.

Joost van den bosch van ka-ching cartoons heeft zijn skills weer eens op de proef gesteld. Een complete 3d flim gemaakt met CS3. Helaas is er nog geen download mogelijk van de film.

Juni 2005 studeerde Matthijs Vlot af aan de WDKA Audiovisuele Vormgeving met onder andere het filmpje ‘Dit is een herhaling’. Philip Freriks van het NOS Journaal speelt de hoofdrol in deze flitsende video-rap van beelden die gehackt zijn uit tientallen Journaal-uitzendingen.

Je zou kunnen zeggen dat de uitzending Yo VPRO Raps van 25 februari 2007 de eerste echte nederhop conventie op de kiekkast was. Oudgedienden als Brainpower, Def P. Raymzter en All Star Fresh konden lekker kissebissen over de good ol’ days, terwijl de nieuwe lichting zich kon vergapen aan oude reportages over Run DMC en LL Cool J. Bekijk nu de uitzending online.

De televisie uitzending leverde op zich weer heel wat stof tot napraten op. Want wie was er nu echt het eerst in het Nederlands gaan rappen? En waar was Extince? En wie had er nou een potje beef met wie? Kortom, genoeg discussie om alle hiphopfora te voeden. Radiozender Kink FM zag in de uitzending genoeg gespreksstof om de avond in eigen studio nog eens dunnetjes over te doen.

De VPRO kreeg de afgelopen week veel reacties van hiphopliefhebbers en -bijters die de uitzending nog eens wilden zien. Vanaf nu kun je de uitzending nakijken op de sites van 3VOOR12 en Vrije Geluiden.
