De afgelopen weken werd een print campagne vormgegeven met een interactief tintje. Op de poster/uitnodiging is een augmented reality tag te vinden waarmee de een mystery guest kan worden onthuld. Local Natives (formerly known as Cavil at Rest) are an indie rock band based in Silver Lake, Los Angeles, USA. Their debut album, Gorilla Manor (which is also the name they gave to a house they all shared in Orange County”) was released in the UK in 2009. The bands sound has been described as “afropop-influenced guitars with hyperactive drumming and hooky three-part harmonies”. They started to attract the attention of the music press after playing nine shows at the 2009 SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. Initial reviews of Local Natives have drawn favourable comparisons to Arcade Fire, Fleet Foxes and Vampire Weekend.

MIdlike The Courage of Others will be released FEB 1st, 2010 in the UK and EUROPE, and FEB 2nd, 2010 in the US.

Atlas is a visual development tool for creating web applications using the Cappuccino.org framework. Developed by 280north.

Cappuccino is an open source application framework for developing applications that look and feel like the desktop software users are familiar with.

Cappuccino is built on top of standard web technologies like JavaScript, and it implements most of the familiar APIs from GNUstep and Apple’s Cocoa frameworks. When you program in Cappuccino, you don’t need to concern yourself with the complexities of traditional web technologies like HTML, CSS, or even the DOM. The unpleasantries of building complex cross browser applications are abstracted away for you.

Cappuccino was implemented using a new programming language called Objective-J, which is modelled after Objective-C and built entirely on top of JavaScript. Programs written in Objective-J are interpreted in the client, so no compilation or plugins are required. Objective-J is released alongside Cappuccino in this project and under the LGPL.

There is a incall staticbar in de sdk of the ipad. This function can maybe used for video conferencing or incoming calls. That’s great new to wait for the next generation ipad with a build-in iSigth.

Today Steve Jobs launches the Apple iPad. My first thought was, the time is ready for a Knowledge Navigator. In 1987 Apple made a Film call Apples Knowledge Navigator. The ipad can be that device, if they made a build-in webcam in it and voice control.
My second thought was, Apple is making the right move voor digitale content on multi touch screens. it’s time for news papers and books. but won’t it be beauty to have a knowledge Navigator and a iReader in one device. For me personally this ipad is useless.
As a designer i love to see the ipad as a personal sketching book where you can put all your design sketches in it with pen or brush. Maybe a perfect idea for the first ipad App.
